Southeastern Section Spring Meeting

The 2022 MAA Southeastern Section Meeting will be held at Berry College, Mount Berry, GA from Thursday, March 10 to Saturday, March 12, 2022. Due to the ongoing pandemic, all participants will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide a recent negative COVID-19 test result. More details about requirements and precautions will be given later.

CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION AND WORKSHOP PROPOSALS:

Please submit special session and workshop proposals to Andy Miller at andrew.miller@belmont.edu, by Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021. Organizers for all submissions will be notified of the decision of the Executive Committee by Wednesday, Dec. 22.

  • For workshops, please include an abstract that addresses the topic to be discussed and how this course will be beneficial to members of the section. Ordinarily workshops are held on Friday morning.
  • For special sessions, please include a session description along with a short discussion on why this would be of interest, and what you as a session organizer will do to ensure success. Session organizers are expected to help recruit speakers for a session they organize; if you include proposed speakers in your application, please get their agreement to participate before you submit your proposal. We ordinarily have two paper sessions, one on Friday afternoon and one on Saturday morning.. Please note any scheduling preferences in your proposal.

SECTION COMMITTEE AND OFFICER NOMINATIONS

At the Section Meeting, we will be electing new officers for several of our open MAA-SE officer positions. If you are interested in serving as an officer or on a section committee, please fill out our MAA-SE Leadership Interest Form. Nominations of other members in the section can be made to Sarah Raynor at raynorsg@wfu.edu.
