When teaching an undergraduate course with hundreds of students, how can an instructor gauge the level of preparedness among their students? How can they identify similarities and differences within the cohort? Our team proposes a framework for implementing qualitative research methods that can be scaled at a fixed cost by leveraging statistical and computational tools. Our methodology aims to empower instructors by producing multidimensional snapshots of their student cohorts, which can then be leveraged to provide tailored interventions and/or connect students with appropriate support. This event is free for MAA members and $15 for nonmembers.
