Are you concerned about ensuring your course materials meet legal and moral requirements for accessibility? Recent state and federal laws in the US have motivated many universities to require that all materials shared with our students digitally meet official accessibility standards. Beyond this, providing materials that are screen reader ready can benefit students with a wide range of print disabilities, such as dyslexia, visual impairments, and physical disabilities.Join us for a survey of the issues facing instructors as content creators in this area. We will explore what it means to make digital materials accessible, including mathematical notation, image descriptions, color contrast, and document structure. Then we will discuss options, appropriate for instructors in varying contexts, to achieve these standards.
