Applications for the next cohort of NExT'ers, who will meet before MathFest 2023 in Tampa Bay, at JMM 2024, and at MathFest 2024 in Indianapolis are due April 15th. A successful application includes a letter of support from a chair or dean pledging both financial and non-monetary support.
If you're a new(ish) faculty member in the US or Canada, please consider applying! Although most of our successful applicants are in their first couple of years post-phd, we welcome more experienced applicants (including those who have completed several research-intensive post-doc or those who have personal reasons for not applying earlier).
MAA Project NExT (New Experiences in Teaching) is a professional development program for new or recent Ph.D.s in the mathematical sciences. It addresses all aspects of an academic career: improving the teaching and learning of mathematics and statistics, making the mathematics community more inclusive and equitable, finding exciting and interesting service opportunities, and creating leaders within the community. We also provide participants with a support network of peers and mentors as they assume these responsibilities. Since 1994 there have been over 2300 NExTers, who have appeared in all capacities in the academic mathematical profession.
